The trips are a fabulous way of getting on the water with like minded people whilst familiarising yourself with new boating destinations.
- Explore some of the best parts of the Solent
- Visit places you may not have gone to before on your own
- Get great navigation advice and local tips from our fully qualified guide
How it works
- Please let us know that you would like to join us.
- Corinne will then call you to confirm the details and book your boat lift for the day of the trip.
- Meet at 9am on the day, in the Crate Cafe for coffee and a navigation briefing from your instructor for the day.
- You and up to 5 other boats will then head off for a grand day out following our qualified skipper, taking in any guidance needed along the way.
- For this particular guided trip we will be dropping anchor in the bay! So please do bring along a picnic or why not make a reservation at the The Hut?
- Re-group on the boats for another short briefing before heading back to Trafalgar Wharf.
About Chichester East Head
Visit one of the last surviving pieces of natural coastline in West Sussex. East Head is an example of the nationally rare and fragile, yet dynamic, sand-dune habitat. Walk, play and sunbathe on the beach, which is considered one of the best in Sussex. Or just admire the yachts that anchor off the northern end, where you may spot the occasional seal.
Explore East Head’s distinct habitats – shingle, sandy beach and dunes that graduate into salt-marsh. Maritime plants, such as the tough-leaved sea holly and sea bindweed, grow through the sand. In summer, they’re at their vibrant, colourful best. Look too for the distinctive marram grass, which needs the cover of the shifting sands to be able to grow.
For this particular guided trip we will have 4 paddleboards onboard which will be set up on the beach for members to enjoy. The Boat Club will run a shuttle to the beach for you to step ashore and enjoy a day on East Head so please pack a picnic to bring along.
We’ll be meeting at 9am and departing at 10.00am to arrive at East Head for 11.30am. We will all return together and depart at 3pm.
Please state on the booking form you wish to join us to Chichester East Head –
