A New Horizon for The Trafalgar Group: Embracing Change and New Opportunities

Hello, Trafalgar family and friends,

Today, we share a mix of emotions – excitement, nostalgia, and a sense of eager anticipation for what the future holds. We’ve made a significant move at The Trafalgar Group, one that marks both an end and a beginning.

A Significant Transition

We’ve completed the sale of the Trafalgar Wharf site in Portsmouth Harbour, including the renowned Trafalgar Drystack and Trafalgar Shipyard, to Premier Marinas. This decision wasn’t made lightly. It represents a strategic shift, opening a new chapter not just for these facilities but for our entire group.

Team Continuity

An important aspect of this transition is the continuity of our dedicated teams. The staff at the Drystack and Shipyard, who have been the backbone of our operations, will be transferring to Premier Marinas. However, they will remain in their current roles at the same location, ensuring that the exceptional service and experience you've come to expect continue seamlessly.

Why Premier Marinas?

In Premier Marinas, we believe to have found a partner who shares our vision of creating exceptional boating and waterside experiences. Their track record in the marine sector is exemplary, and their commitment to quality and customer service aligns perfectly with our ethos. Premier Marinas is more than just a business; their profits support the Wellcome Trust, contributing to global health and scientific research. This aspect deeply resonated with us, knowing that our legacy will continue to contribute positively beyond the marine sector.

What’s Changing and What’s Staying

While Premier Marinas takes over the Trafalgar Wharf, including its dry stack and shipyard, many of our beloved businesses remain under the Trafalgar banner. Boat Club Trafalgar, RIBs For Sale, Ballistic RIBs, Thornham Marina, and Gatcombe House serviced offices continue as integral parts of The Trafalgar Group. And yes, we’re staying right here at Premier Trafalgar Wharf with our RIBs For Sale business, Ballistic RIBs, and Boat Club, with Jonny Boys at the helm.

Our Proud History

The transformation of the former Vosper Thornycroft site into Trafalgar Wharf has been a cornerstone of our journey. We’ve developed Europe’s largest indoor dry stack and a successful commercial shipyard, creating a vibrant hub for both marine and non-marine businesses. This legacy of innovation and excellence is something we carry forward with pride.

Looking Ahead with Excitement

This transition is more than a change; it’s a springboard into new opportunities. We’re actively seeking new ventures and investments, ready to sprinkle a bit of Trafalgar magic wherever we go. Our journey has been incredible, filled with memorable moments like launching a Guinness World Record Pumpkin Boat, ten ludicrously funny Christmas videos and witnessing the growth of our sea swan families. These experiences are the heart of our community, and we’re excited to create more in the years to come.

This poem sums up our journey at The Trafalgar Group. It’s not just about boats and buildings; it’s about the people, the memories, and the experiences we’ve shared.
