When using a marine VHF radio or VHF hand held radio on your boat, it is essential that you have completed and passed the SRC (Short Range Certificate) Radio Course. During the course, you will be taught using radio simulators and have a short written/multiple choice test at the end. On completion you will receive the Short Range Certificate (SRC) or Short Range Radio Licence from the RYA.
But don’t worry if you don’t yet have your licence, as there is still time!
