Newtown Creek - Picnic and SUP

About Newtown Creek

Newtown Creek offers one of the most peaceful spots in the Solent. The creek is protected by the National Trust but they have no objection to boats anchoring up and going ashore for barbeques and beach games.

One of the great attractions to Sports boats and RIBs are the steep banks which make beaching a simple task, please check the tide before you go though. The bay also makes a lovely spot for anchoring, try paddleboarding, a bit of fishing and swimming and a delicious picnic onboard while enjoying your surroundings.

Newtown Creek is around 12 nautical miles from the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour so you can have the sausages and halloumi on the barbeque within an hour. We’ll be heading out about 10.30am into the Solent, heading west past Cowes to Newtown Creek. Onboard we’ll have 4 paddleboards which will be set up on the beach for members to enjoy. We’ll drop anchor and raft up and you can enjoy the social afternoon on the water. We’ll be looking to head back at 3pm.

For this particular guided trip we will be picking up a mooring and enjoying the bay so please do pack a picnic to bring along.

Boat Share

You may want to share your boat with other members, which is a great way to meet new people and make new friends, but also you can split the cost
of the fuel and the mooring fees when there are pontoon charges. All you need to do is indicate on the booking app ‘happy to share’ and we’ll arrange
this for you.
